Bike Trip

I was furloughed today to help save the state of Georgia some money so we decided to take a trip somewhere. The day turned out to be the warmest day of the year thus far, so it wasn't bad to be off of work at all! Mathieu has been enjoying the bike trailer for short rides around Tybee, and we thought he was ready for something bigger. We loaded everything up and headed about 1 hour away to Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. They have some nice quiet roads which are great for biking.
We had a very nice day. It was a little challenging because Mathieu decided not to sleep in the car, thereby spoiling our plan. But he was a good passenger for about 15 minute spurts. Then we would find a decent piece of grass where we could stop and let Mathieu crawl around. He loved checking out the bike trailer and bicycles. He doesn't usually have access to these when he is crawling around the house.I had a nice father-son moment feeding Mathieu out in the woods. I've always imagined hanging out with my son in the woods, but never on the beach, which ironically is where Mathieu spends a lot of his outdoor time. Tough life!
