Baby's First Christmas--Tropical Style

Since the due date is only 4 weeks away, we could not travel for Christmas this year. Uncle Denis, Aunt Julie, and cousin Amie took the train down from Rhode Island to visit. We had a great time with the warm weather -- notice how happy we look to be outside wearing t-shirts and shorts. The first 3 pictures are on Christmas day! Webster (Amie's name for the baby) seemed to enjoy the tropical Christmas-- there was a lot of movement! Because of this experience, will Webster be wimpy about cold weather like most native Georgians? Amie, a labor and delivery nurse, graciously located Webster's bottom for us. Aunt Julie and Uncle Denis also helped us out by going through the supplies we have accumulated so far and then taking us to Target to get us important pieces they thought we would need. We repaid them by being their tour guides everyday. It was a great week for everyone!

Thanksgiving in Chicago

Dave, my parents, and I flew to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with the Webers. Besides consuming scrumptous food, we visited the Shedd Aquarium, hung out with friends, practiced golf, and traversed many paths in the Northern deciduous forests.(No palm trees and sand here! )

Mom Weber planned a great activity. Everyone designed a onesie for the new baby. Can you guess which onesie is designed by Dave?

End of week 30 and baby's a-kickin

In an effort to be very mobile and adventurous before we are loaded down with 20 diapers and 3 bags of various baby gear, Dave and I spent yesterday hiking on Cumberland Island.

Cumberland Island is Georgia's largest and southernmost barrier island. Pristine maritime forests, undeveloped beaches and wide marshes are exemplified on this island. If you come and visit us for an extended time, then planning a trip to Cumberland is a must! It was also a pleasant 75 degree sunny day in November! Our baby enjoyed the island, too. I was feeling kicks throughout our 10 mile jaunt.

Trip to St. Simon's and Jekyll Islands

We spent the weekend on a couple of the barrier islands south of Tybee. Sue still rides her bike everyday to work (Yes!).

The first 25 weeks of baby Weber's life--a recap

Thanks for checking our blog. I really feel like I'm joining the Internet generation with this project, for better or worse. Let it be known, this is the first blog for Susan or me.

Let's start with a quick recap of baby Weber's first 25 weeks. I used to always think pregnancy was measured by months, but now I know that real pregnant people go by what week they are in. A normal pregnancy is 40 weeks for reference.

When baby Weber was 7 weeks, he/she was enjoying the beautiful Tybee beaches-many trips by kayak to little Tybee. Mmmm, can we manage to do these trips when baby Weber is out of the womb? It is only a matter of months.

At 15 weeks Sue was not slowed down at all. We hiked all over Vermont and Rhode Island. At 24 weeks the baby bulge was very evident in person. Here we were dressed up as 70's characters for the St. Michael's school 60th birthday party.
