Good-bye Great Pepere

My grandfather, Mathieu's Great Pepere, died Saturday, April 23, in Rhode Island, at the age of 93. Mathieu and I, along with all my aunts, uncles, cousins, brother, sister, sister-in-law, and parents, were there to say good-bye to him, and he was cognizant until death. I told Mathieu why we were all standing around my grandfather's bed, and Mathieu says, "Bye, Great Pepere."
This picture was taken 5 months ago. My pepere's joyful spirit is very visible.

At the wake: Mathieu and Daddy looking quite handsome. Mathieu is holding toy pliers and he fixed many chairs in the funeral home. We left the toy drill in the car.

My parents' visit to Tybee was abridged because of my grandfather's health, but then we spent the week in RI which was wonderful! Mathieu is helping my dad place his garden ornaments.

Although Mom looks like she doing some acrobatic move, she's really just playing catch with M.

My niece, Jeanne-Marie

We took a short canoe trip with Jeanne-Marie and David. We're so happy we bought this canoe back in August.

Mathieu with his godfather, Uncle Paul. That's the drill aforementioned.

The newest addition to our family, Gabriel Hebert, my brother and sister-in-law's little boy.

All the grand kids with their Pepere and Memere

A seasoned traveler: Mathieu enjoys pulling the suitcase, which makes it very easy for us to travel around an airport.
